The one day event - the fifth Sali Trade Open Day - was staged at the Hypo Centar Hall Kornati, a purpose built exhibition space. It was presented by the company's Davor Vujić and Emil Koller and attended by over 100 interested industry practitioners working across all sectors of pro industrial, commercial and entertainment lighting.
Robe was represented directly by sales director Harry von den Stemmen and technical & training manager Petr Vanek.
A full range of Robe products were on display and available for demonstration including the fabulous new ROBIN MMX Spot - which was the star of the show! People were hugely impressed with its brightness, the unique dual graphic wheel and the speed of the unit.
The groundbreaking MMX Spot is Robe's next generation of 1200 series workhorse fixtures. It is designed to the smaller-brighter-lighter specification, to be more energy efficient and in keeping with the whole ROBIN (Robe Innovative Technology) ethos.
The ROBIN LEDWash series fixtures also attracted massive interest. Visitors saw the very compact and highly portable LEDWash 300, along with the LEDWash 600 series in RGBW, Daylight, Smart White and Warm White versions. Also prominent was the full ROBIN 300 and 600 series - in Spot, Wash and Beam variants, plus the popular ColorSpot and ColorWash 700E ATs. From Robe's Digital Series, the power and potential of the DigitalSpot 7000 DT moving head projector was illustrated first hand.
That was not all!
Robe's LED series was represented by CityLine 48, CityFlex48 and the awesome CitySkype Xtreme LED wash units.
The Robe demonstration was split between Petr Vanek and Dean Karov. Petr focussing on the ROBIN series, including the MMXs, and the DT 7000s - using an Avo console, while Dean Karov from MK Light (ROBE's exclusive distributor for Slovenia) programmed and demo'd the full Robe LEDWash range from a grandMA console.
In the centre of the room a lighting rig was flown in the ceiling, and this was rigged with the MMXs which were supplied by top Croatian rental company, Eldra, recent - and very happy - investors in MMX.
Davor comments that with the increasing importance of everyone making some effort, no matter how apparently small, towards preserving the environment in their daily lives and businesses, Robe's commitment to green initiatives, product development and manufacturing is extremely well timed, "This is another element that is positively reinforcing the brand." he states.
At the Sali Trade Open Day, visitors could also see products from the other premium lighting and staging brands that they distribute, including ETC, ShowLED, Nivoflex, Zero88, Dexel, Gerriets, Rosco, City Theatrical, Look Solutions and fellow Czechs, the trussing manufacturer Miloš.
A wide cross section of people flowed through the hall during the day - lighting, set and visual designers; technicians and programmers working in theatres, television studios and on concerts; production and rental companies; and those working in the worlds of discos, clubs and hotels.
Davor comments post show, that one reason for the high turnout was because the Open Day presented a rare opportunity in Croatia to (a) see a substantial number of leading manufacturers simultaneously, and (b) meet directly with representatives and staff working for those brands.
"Our philosophy is that our customers should see Sali trade not just as a sales operation, but as a partner offering a good selection of the newest and most innovative lighting and AV technologies, plus superlative technical and after sales support and service," he concludes.
He feels that moving the event from Pula to Zagreb for the first time after four years reflects the growing importance of the Croatian market in the world of entertainment lighting and production technologies.
