Having invested €2 million in the project, the idea of moving video projection being the right element to provide the visual " icing on the cake" was already germinating in Al-Hami's mind. So, working with lighting designer Michael Kantrowitsch from Arsluminis, they approached Ibbenbüren based LMP, who proposed Robe's DigitalSpot 7000DT as a perfect solution to realise the lighting effect that Al-Hami wanted.

As soon as he had seen the demonstration, Al-Hami was convinced this was the right fixture for the job and immediately placed the order with LMP's Olli Winkler.
The DigitalSpot 7000 DT is installed on a special concrete pillar 20 metres back from the front of the building which is an eye-catching cylindrical shape. The unit is fitted with a wide angle lens. The fixture is cased in a climate controlled air-dome for weather protection and projects very brightly, covering an area approximately 10 x 10 metres.

Initially the DigitalSpot has been programmed up with visual media from its onboard library, which throw colour, texturing and shapes onto the building's white exterior wall. This task was completed using a lighting desk, with the show file then uploaded to the DigitalSpot's internal DMX recorder. The unit is switched on and off each evening and morning by a clock timer, and for maintenance reasons and to easily upload and change content in the future, a WLAN was added.

Al-Hami was joined by a plethora of regional celebrities and VIPs for the launch party, where he stated, "My vision has come true with this building and I am very proud. I wanted a unique, one-off design in combination with a personal touch and some interesting architectural details - and I believe that this is exactly what we have achieved!”

R+S solutions AG was the general contractor for the building. The construction and project management was undertaken by two architectural offices, Swoboda from Großenlüder and Alt und Poppel from Eichenzell.
