Staged for the first time in 2008 at the Lanxess (formerly Cologne) Arena, COLOUR 2009 featured an international DJ line up including Westbam, Fabio White, Phil Romano, Tony & Disco Gessner. The venue was divided into 3 separate areas according to musical genre - the main floor plus an indie and pop dancefloor.

Robe DigitalSpots Add Colour in Cologne

Products involved

Robe DigitalSpot 7000DT digital moving lights were the stars of the 'Pop' dancefloor, with 4 fixtures specified by Cologne based production company EMP.

They were loaded with specially themed content which was projected around the room, and they were also used as moving light effects, proving highly dynamic and flexible.
Programming was done by Stephan Flören.

Flören had previously used DigitalSpots on the final of DSDS (German Pop Idol) and was impressed by how effective and powerful they were, as well as extremely easy to programme and use.

EMP - ebi media produktions GmbH from Cologne, also supplied 30 Robe ColorSpot 700E ATs and other moving lights, LED fixtures and a large conventional rig for the event.

Lighting was operated by Flören using a grandMA full size.  The spectacular looking trussing design featured a series of flown curves and circles along with verticals.
