The 1000 seater DK Podmoscowie Concert Hall in the Moscow region of Russia has recently benefited from a lighting upgrade which has included the installation of new Robe moving lights.

These have all been supplied by one of Robe’s Russian distributors, LTM. The package includes 10 ColorWash 575 ATs, 6 ColorSpot 575E ATs, 4 Scan 1200XTs and 14 ColorMix 575ATs, and LTM also supplied over 100 generic lanterns and a Leprecon desk.
The lights are arranged over a series of house LX bars, swapped around according to the needs of the incoming production or show.

DK Podmoscowie’s lighting director Sergey Xrylev is delighted with the purchase – which was specified by LTM – and has made lighting the vast array of different productions staged in the venue a lot easier and more exciting. The Concert Hall is both a producing and a receiving house, and the fixtures are used almost every day for anything from jazz to classical, choral to rock, cabaret to dance and also theatre shows.
The massive DK Podmoscowie was in 1983 and designed as a full cultural centre facility, also hosting art exhibitions, literary events, creative workshops and other cultural activities as well as the concert hall.

Xrylev has worked at DK Podmoscowie since it opened, and this is the first time he’s come into contact with moving lights, so it’s been a steep learning curve, but one that he’s found very rewarding.
“I like the versatility of the Robes and the great variety of effects you can get out of just the one fixture” he says, “They are adaptable for literally any type of performance and that’s exactly what we need here”. He adds that the service and support from LTM has also been excellent, and included extensive product training for him and his staff on the new moving lights.
